Here at Værtshuset, we can offer unique tailor-made banqueting facilities. Our hostlery is closely akin to a living museum and will provide a very special setting for your arrangement. All the dining rooms are of different sizes, each with a distinctive atmosphere. Whether you are arranging a social or business function, anniversary or birthday party, christening or wedding reception, our hostlery is ready to make it a perfect evening.
Værtshuset can be booked in its entirety to cater for major functions with over 60 guests. We can also offer special attractions with which to round off a meal; such as a visit to the local glass blower at Egenart, horse-and-carriage rides through the neighbouring countryside, or historical guided tours of Bærums Verk accompanied by the "Ironworks Sisters" - two local figures who can often be seen wndering through the village.
This is Norway’s oldest inn, constructed on historical ground, built in 1640 at Bærum’s Ironworks to, among other things, control the workers’ drinking!
The cuisine is mostly Norwegian and all food is prepared using the best ingredients.
